March 30, 2005 - Man kills lover, commits suicide
A turbulent affair between a 32-year-old man and his teenage lover came to a bloody end when he killed her, and then took his own life at a tenement yard in Tower Street, Olympic Gardens, St. Andrew.
In the aftermath, the lifeless bodies of Nicholas Williams and Isheka Trudy-Ann Clarke lay yards apart from each other, both with gunshot wounds to the head.
October 1, 2005 - UWI student commits suicide
A 21-year-old student of the University of the West Indies was found dead at his home in an apparent suicide.
The body of Kwame Phidd, resident of Hess Crescent in Red Hills, St. Andrew, was found about 10:30 a.m. with what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
October 1, 2005 - Chilling murder-suicide
Neville Powell had been drinking heavily and threatening to kill himself with his licensed firearm for several weeks. On October 1, he finally carried out his plans, shooting and killing two women, after attempting to kill his estranged sweetheart in a murderous fit of rage that stunned the relatively quiet community of Dunbar, Manchester.
October 30, 2005 - Suicide in Portland
Patricia Weeze, 44, was found hanging from an ackee tree on Springbank Road, Portland. The body was discovered about 10:35 a.m. by her 13-year-old daughter.
Ms. Weeze had for some months locked herself away in her home, and was reportedly experiencing economic hardship.
December 4, 2005 - Constable commits suicide
A 31-year-old police constable attached to the Special Anti-Crime Task Force committed suicide at his home. He has been identified as Dave Gordon, a seven year veteran of the force.
