Jamaican drug-don arrested in Miami

MIAMI, (Reuters):

FBI AGENTS arrested a Jamaican man suspected of leading a large-scale marijuana- (ganja) trafficking ring on Thursday and seized some 6,000 pounds (2,700 kg) of the drug from a house in Miami.

The FBI said in a statement that Donovan Dixon, 36, was arrested along with two other Jamaicans at the house, bringing to a head, a two-year investigation carried out by the FBI, drug enforcement and customs officials and Miami police.

"Dixon's organisation was responsible for the importation and distribution of thousands of pounds of marijuana," the statement said.

The three men are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute the drug.
