Despite all the things that can possibly make the season blue, the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund folks are having none of it.

The group's directors and staff held a media appreciation event at Acropolis on Tuesday to thank the media for its support not just in 2009 but since the organisation officially began in 2003.

The Fund is mandated to receive, distribute, administer and manage the monetary contributions from the lottery companies to various institutions. During the reception, which was short on speeches but abundant in mingling, guests viewed vignettes of the CHASE Fund at work in various communities. Chief Executive Officer W. Billy Heaven, expressed confidence that they would meet their budget and that it would be a good year. However, he promised other specifics later on, because the night was for fun.

With MC Dr Aggrey Irons being his usual irreverent self, the jokes and good vibes were never far away. The beautiful and energetic Mary Isaacs also kept the cheery climate going with her thrilling performance including songs such as I'm So Excited and At Last. The very engaging Isaacs didn't need to convince the gentlemen, especially, to dance and sing along with her. Prizes and gifts abounded, and complemented the evening.

Guests out included Maxine Brown, Hilary Coulton, Dania Bogle, Job Nelson, Chris Serju, Carol Francis, HG Helps, Kerriann Lee, Desmond Allen, Ian Burnett and Kayon Raynor.
