An apology from Gordon Robinson

Published: Friday | November 6, 2009

The Editor, Sir:

In my last piece on Easton Douglas, I did say that I was unsure of the details of the 'Hillcrest Restaurant Affair' after all these years and I did get it badly wrong.

The owner of the restaurant was 'Carrot' Jarrett, whose ex-wife it was who was Easton's lady friend at the time. Easton's ex-wife had absolutely nothing to do with the matter. I hope she will accept this correction and my sincere apologies for any embarrassment my Alzheimered brain might have caused her.

I am, etc.,

Gordon Robinson
