Despite the challenging economic and social ills currently facing the nation, Governor General Sir Patrick Allen says through their resilience, Jamaicans will prevail.

"We are experiencing one of the most depressing and challenging times in Jamaica, but I am confident that the spirit of resilience of our Jamaican people will overcome this period," Sir Patrick said during the Governor General's Achievement Award Youth Consultative 'I Believe' Breakfast yesterday at the Hopewell High School in Hanover.

Among the attendees were students from high schools and tertiary institutions across the Cornwall County. In addition, a number of Governor General's Award recipients were part of the consultative discussions.

Students and recipients were given the opportunity to engage Sir Patrick in discussion about what has been taking place in the society while adding their suggestions for correcting the social problems plaguing the nation.

Yesterday's consultative breakfast was the last of a series of sessions between the head of state and youth.
