Fired up by his strike last weekend against Tottenham, Bolton's enduring Reggae Boy Ricardo Gardner has warned of more to come during the Premiership season.

The 31-year-old, who plays left back for the northwest England club, was first on the scoresheet at the Reebok Stadium, but the hosts twice squandered the advantage to settle for a 2-2 draw with Spurs.

"I have set myself a good target, starting with wanting to score more than last season," said Gardner, who went without a goal for almost six season prior to last year's campaign.

Defensive qualities

"I'm focusing on that and I'm going to try and help my team in whatever way I can."

Last season, the Premiership veteran scored four goals while helping Bolton defensively as they finished 13th in the tables.

Though picked mainly for his defensive qualities, the former Harbour View player is known to get forward into attacking positions.

He said that scoring more goals this season would be a reality with the help he was sure to get from his teammates.

"The players that I've got around me are fantastic and I think that they will help me a lot in achieving that goal," the Jamaican international continued.

"We are all gelling together nicely, but there is still room to get better and better each time we play."

Bolton have made a decent start to the new season and lie 13th in the tables. They have not lost a Premiership game in four outings.
