This is what I meant

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS unfortunate that in the letter 'Cooper, Arthur, Golding are in error' published on Tuesday, September 29, the second sentence of the section under the sub-headline 'Personal freedom' was edited to to read " ... feminism (different from feminist perspectives)".

The restructuring interfered with the clarity of my statement. My pluralisation and capitali-sation, 'Feminisms', was done to highlight the fact that there are many platforms from which women advocate for agency. In quite a number of areas, the views of feminists from one school (liberal feminism, Marxist feminism, African feminism, etc.) do not usually coincide with views postulated by those from another school, hence the use and capitalisation of "Feminisms" and the bracketed explanation "different feminist perspectives".

It would surely be useful if you publish this clarification.

I am, etc.,
