Advertising exec dies

The local advertising community is mourning the sudden death of one of its giants.

Jean Lewis, managing director of Lindo FCB and a director of the Advertising Agencies Association of Jamaica (AAAJ), died on the weekend.

"Jean had a long and successful career and made a great contribution to the development of the advertising profession in Jamaica. She will be greatly missed," said president of the AAAJ, Arnold J. Foote, yesterday.

Cop perishes in crash

Inspector Joseph Vaughn, who was stationed at the Mandeville Police Station, died yesterday about 2 in the afternoon after he was involved in a traffic accident on the Kingsland to Spur Tree main road.

Vaughan, who died on the spot, spent the last 30 years as a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
