LIME makes another FirstCarib pick


Borely

Gerard Borely, for-mer managing director of corporate banking and chief regional financial officer at FirstCaribbean International Bank, has joined the regional man-agement team at telecoms firm, LIME, as regional chief financial officer, the company announced this week.

According to LIME, Borely will be responsible for strategy, planning and the effective integration of the financial systems of all LIME markets. Borely is said to bring more than 20 years of corporate finance, strategy and management experience to LIME and will be based in Barbados.

Cremin

The company hasalso appointed Marguerite Cremin as chief marketing officer as as the communications provider seeks to bolster its presence in the region.

Cremin, an Irish citizen who has lived in Jamaica for eight years, spent three years at Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) having joined in November 2005 to oversee marketing, sponsorship and product management.

She previously worked at Digicel as group brand director, migrating to Jamaica from Ireland to take up the assignment. In Ireland, she worked with Vodafone as head of marketing and sponsorship.

Resignations at Scotia DBG

Scotia DBG Investments Limited has created a new position and filled several vacancies arising from the recent resignations of four senior officers.

Johann Heaven has been appointed to the new post of vice-president of strategic planning, projects and product development.

In the meantime, Vernon Wilson replaces Jasmine Sappleton as acting branch manager, Scotia DBG May Pen. Sappleton resigned last month. Grace Crawford replaces Tanya Ho-Shue as acting head of Scotia DBG Merchant Bank. Ho-Shue's resignation takes effect September 11.

Christopher Chin-Loy, who held the post of assistant vice-president of brokerage and structured products, has also resigned. Scotia DBG says Chin-Loy will be migrating.

Faced with the month-end departure of Clay Moodie, assistant vice-president of Treasury, the firm has made that position redundant.

Kirk Distributors installs new GM


Bennett

Lanna Bennett is the new general manager of Kirk Distributors Limited. Bennett's appointment became effective September 1. Bennett joined Cari-Med Limited in 1996 as marketing manager and was promoted to the position of director of sales and marketing. She currently serves on the boards of both Cari-Med Limited and Kirk Distributors Limited, where she was instrumental in the company's expansion in the distribution of pharmaceutical and consumer product.

Gordon now president of JAIFA

Carlton Gordon is the newly elected president of the Jamaica Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (JAIFA). Gordon, who is from Solid Life General Insurance Brokers, re-places former president, Uelma Nicholson. Nicholson, of Spectrum Insurance Brokers, remains on the new JAIFA board of directors.
