SPALDINGS, CLARENDON:

Four Nursing administration students presented the Mandeville Public Hospital in Manchester with several well-needed pieces of appliances and furniture on Thursday from the In-service Education Unit of the Ministry of Health.

The nurses, who were on field experience as part of a 12-week training programme in nursing administration at the hospital, sought and received assistance from business and political leaders in Manchester.

Their efforts allowed them the opportunity to donate a locker, fans, a microwave oven and chairs to the paediatric, male surgical, female surgical and the female medical wards of the hospital. They also saw to the refurbishing of a refrigerator for one of the wards.

Nurse Fione Collins who, along with nurses Debbie East-Branford, Dellrene Simmonds-McLean and Sonia Hamilton, came up with the idea of giving to the Mandeville Hospital, told The Gleaner that the items donated were in great demand.
