Out of touch

I AGREE that the Church is not the forum for issues of abortion to be decided. One reason for my saying so is that it is a male-dominated organisation which, in my opinion, is out of touch with the social realities affecting women. Additionally, the Church will always use its own religious moral viewpoint to argue, which may conflict with the right of every woman to have autonomy over her own body.
Often, religion fails to take into account issues such as rape, incest and illness. It may also often contradict with the medical profession's reasoning. However, I must also be cautious here as I must also say that the medical profession is also male dominated. Whatever is decided, I hope the panel is comprised of an equal amount of women and men.
I am, etc.,
