NOTE-WORTHY

A release from the People's National Party (PNP) read: "Our intention has always been that the integrity of the membership of the Parliament should be beyond question. We feel confident that the point has been well and truly made and that our actions have been vindicated."
How can this be when, even at this moment that I write, there are persons in the PNP sitting in Parliament with dual citizenship and putting in question "the integrity of the membership of the Parliament"?
How can there be confidence that "the point has been well and truly made and that (the PNP's) actions have been vindicated" when there has been no action taken within the PNP to have their own members compliant?

I just want to express a big thank you to minister Olivia Grange for bringing back the interest of our grand gala celebrations. I know that there was a lot of teamwork and planning done in making it a success.
Although I was not in Jamaica to celebrate it, I felt the goose bumps just viewing it on the Internet and to see the involvement of Jamaicans out on the streets and at the arena celebrating. Thanks, minister Grange. Good job.

Like many thousands of Jamaicans I am a contributor to the National Housing Trust (NHT). I find it quite amazing, unjust and immoral for the NHT to continue to partially fund housing projects, using the contributors' money, that at the end of the day over 80 per cent of us will never be able to afford to purchase. I wish someone would please tell me what is the point of financing housing projects that 8 out of 10 NHT contributors cannot afford.
There must be a clause or operating principle that where such funding is granted the units must be affordable to at least 50 per cent of NHT contributors.
