Assistant Commissioner of Police Victor Barry is facing a charge of accessory after the fact to murder, while constables Paul Edwards and Louie Lynch are charged with murder. They were arrested and charged in June.
The allegations are that the police drove to the parking lot at the plaza on December 23, 2004, where they allegedly accosted 20-year-old Kemar Walters of Kitson Town, St Catherine, and 35-year-old Oliver Duncan of Olympic Gardens, Kingston 11.
One of the men was said to be part of a car-stealing ring involving members of the police force. Both men have been missing since. It is believed that they were abducted and subsequently murdered.
The policemen are on bail, which Supreme Court Judge Kay Beckford extended.
