International reggae-influenced recording artiste Sean Kingston will be coming to Jamaica to celebrate the release of his single Fire Burnin', which is off his brand-new album Tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Sean Kingston's sophomore attempt at a studio album, and according to the artiste, the album is ahead of its time. The 14-track album will be available for sale on September 22 and features collaborations from the biggest names in music. Lil' Wayne, Senegalese superstar Akon, Haitian recording artiste and producer Wyclef Jean and pop princess Gwen Stefani are some of the artistes Kingston has collaborated with on Tomorrow.

"I wanted to be different, and I wanted to do something that was new," Kingston said.

"It's definitely not something that you'd hear on the radio every day. I wanted to go a little big left with it so that's why it's called Tomorrow. The songs on it aren't songs that people would expect from Sean Kingston. It's a new time in my life."

New sound

Does this mean Sean Kingston has changed?

"I write all my songs and my own lyrics, so it's definitely still going to be the Sean Kingston that's been around. I like to be different, and people know that now," he said.

"Look at even Fire Burnin'. It's different because it's got reggae, R&B, techno and pop. It's mostly reggae, but it's still very different because nobody touches techno right now, so for me to do that, it was just way out there. It's not stuff that's on the everyday radio and that's the stuff this album is made of."

But Jamaicans won't have to wait until September 22 to hear Kingston's new sound as the artiste will be in Montego Bay on Friday night to celebrate the release of Fire Burnin' at the Margaritaville nightclub.

According to promoter of the event, Tara Playfair-Scott, patrons can expect a high-energy night at Margaritaville.

"The music is going to be high energy and vibe building all night. There will be no 'early juggling', once the doors open, the party begins," she said, adding that the cost is $600.

"The true bredren beer, Red Stripe, is on board and the first 100 ladies will get a free beer as well as the ever-popular Smirnoff with specials all night long."

Dr Dre of Renaissance Disco and DJ Nicco will provide the music.

"We might even have a few surprises from Sean Kingston and some of his friends," Playfair-Scott added.
