Baycrest is a secluded spot in Portland, for which the term 'off the beaten track' is an understatement. An ideal party venue with a stunning view of the Caribbean Sea, it was the home of Orange Baycrest last Sunday.

The sea breeze attempted to alleviate the heat, with the help of a variety of drinks that were available in abundance. From Tru-Juice (including their Tru-Tea brand); Appleton, Absolut vodka, Genesis, Kingston Beer, while Café Blue provided cold coffee beverages with a bit of alcohol if you so desired.

Conditioned tent

Still not cool enough? Then you could take refuge inside the air-conditioned tent from Tent City.

The all-inclusive event allowed patrons to feast on 'country nyamings' from Hamilton's Smoke House, Scotchie's and Mac's Gourmet Market.

And of course, who could ignore the music provided by Peter Phillips Disco.

The party served a double purpose as a great summer Sunday afternoon escape and an opportunity to give back to the community.

Part proceeds from the event will go to the Buff Bay Hospital to improve it's infrastructure and improve their services.

Among those enjoying the event were Greg and Viv Lue-Tenn, Ruth Levy, Donomar Kenox, Gregg Anderson, Melanie and Philip Schwapp, Michelle Mayne, Darren Laidlaw, Gregory Mayne, Brandie Kirkland, Julie Campbell, Carolyne Lazarus, Trudi Hamilton, Nicholas McKoy, Richard Barton, Caroline McCann, Shari Munroe, Coral Fernandez, Sharon Smith, Josina Jackson, Lois Cowling and Ron Duquesnay.
