Boys' and Girls' Champs

Keiron Stewart
Date of birth: 21.11.89
Class: One
School: Kingston College (KC)
Events: 110m and 400m hurdles
PR: 13.49 (110mH), 50.20 (400mH)
Main rivals: Stewart sees Warren Weir as a major threat in the 110mH and Wayne Extol of Wolmer's and Andre Walsh of St Jago in the 400mH.
Stewart's KC teammate, André Peart, has the second-best time this season but, according to the former, there is no need to do beat him, as the team is looking to sweep the event.
Last year's performance: Stewart finished second in a very close race with Akeem Smith, both recording 13.83. He had earlier won the 400m hurdles in 50.29.
Expectations: Aiming to win both events in record times.
Note: If anyone is to break records in the 110mH and 400mH, it will be Stewart. His national record of 13.49 over the sprint obstacle is better than the Champs record of 13.53, which he set in 2007. In the 400m hurdles, Josef Robertson's mark of 50.24 could also be lowered this year.
Stewart, who won bronze at last year's World Junior Championships, seems destined to have the Champs of his life.
