Supreme Ventures Limited yesterday joined the list of companies and persons who have donated items to the children of Martha's House.

On March 16, fire destroyed the two-storey Mustard Seed Communities home at 1E North Street, Kingston, turning the lives of the 30 children upside down.

Since then, THE STAR has been pleading for help to get their lives back on track and many people have responded.

Supreme Ventures Limited contributed to the needs of the children and the rehabilitation of the home. The donation, which took place at The Gleaner Company Limited yesterday morning, will definitely mean something special for them.

Willing to help

For Charmaine Lawson, Supreme Ventures executive assistant, corporate communications, the gesture shows that people are willing to help.

"It shows that persons out there do care. It gives the children hope and it shows no matter what the circum-stances may be, someone will always help," said Lawson.

Among the items donated were clothes, non-perishable food items, lotion and tissue. A $200,000 cheque was also donated to the home.

"There was a need and it very much touched all of us. So we asked the staff (at Supreme Ventures) to contribute to the children. Mostly, we did it because we have got so much from the public," Lawson added.
