Ras Tafari book launch

Controversial Baptist clergyman, the Reverend Clinton Chisholm, returns to Jamaica to launch his book, Revelations of Ras Tafari.
The book launch will take place tomorrow at the Bethel Baptist Church Hall on Hope Road, St Andrew at 7:30 p.m. and on Friday at the same time, at the Burchell Baptist Church Hall on Market Street in Montego Bay.
In this book, Chisholm challenges all the fundamental tenets of Rastafarianism.
Chisholm boldly states in the book: "Rastafari's view of Emperor Haile Selassie I as the black man's God is marred by ignorance and misconceptions, because the Emperor was not black, meaning a Negro, and had no name or title that was unique to him".
He also states that when the Bible mentions Ethiopia, it was not in reference to modern Ethiopia, but to Cush, which is modern Sudan. Chisholm also contends that "the traditional idea that Emperor Haile Selassie is a direct descendant of Solomon lacks historical corroboration. All the Emperors of the last 200 years of the Monarchy were unrelated by blood, except for one, despite the fact that all claimed to be Solomonic".
