AT A time when hundreds of Jamaicans are losing their jobs, telecommunication provider, Flow, yesterday donated $700,000 to donor agent Food For the Poor, to assist with the well- being of the less fortunate across the country.

According to Michele English, Flow's president and chief opera-ting officer, the donation was in keeping with a commitment made last December. The hand-over ceremony took place at Flow's St Lucia Avenue office, in New Kingston.

"We at Flow decided to give Food For the Poor $100 for each customer that signed on during the promotions. So we are glad that an agency that does so much for the poor can benefit. It is hoped that this token will help them to continue touching the lives of the less fortunate in the society,'' said English.

In response, Father Burchel McPherson, chairman of Food For the Poor, said his organisation depended on donations.

"(This) will help us feed an extra person or even send a child to school," said McPherson. "We thank Flow for their generosity.''
