Defending champions Tivoli Gardens 'A' will meet Blades United 'A' in today's feature game in the quarter-finals of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Open League competition at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting 4:30 p.m.

In the day's other games, rally champions Waulgrovians 'A' oppose Arnett Gardens at 6:30 p.m, Super League winners Jamalco battle Speg 'A' at 5:30 p.m. and Windalco entertain Jetsetters 'A' at 3:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, in the consolation quarter-final knockout competition, Tivoli Gardens 'B' face Skibo 'A' at 3 p.m., Mico await Molynes United 'A' at 4 p.m., Police 'A' oppose Hampshire at 5 p.m. and Alpha entertain Alexander Strikers at 6 p.m.

Unbeaten

The West Kingston-based Tivoli Gardens, who are unbeaten this season, top Zone Six with 24 points and according to their coach, Sylvester Campbell, they will be firing on all cylinders.

"People can expect good performance from us as we going for a big score tomorrow (today), because we need to send a strong message to our rivals," said Campbell.

Campbell added that they are not overconfident, but they don't expect a serious challenge from Blades.

"I don't think that they will be much danger to us because they have lost their best defensive player, Althea Byfield, who has moved to Waulgrovians," said Campbell.

Former national players, Kasey Evering, Tamara Hylton and Peta Gaye Thomas, will lead the Tivoli charge, along with the experienced pair of Nicole Henry and Nerissa Gibbs.

Zone Five leaders

Blades United, which topped Zone Five with 21 points, suffering their only loss to Molynes United 'A'.

Rowan Byfield, coach of Blades United, also said he is very optimistic.

"We want to play a good game against them and if we see a way where we can win the match then we are going to try and win it," said Byfield.

Byfield added, "We know that they are a very strong team but if we can stay competitive throughout the match and put them under pressure and force them to make mistakes, then I think that we might be able to pull off a victory."

Blades United will rest their hopes in the hands of their captain and goal attack, Amarita Smith, goal-shooter Karen Brown and centre Latoya Golding.
