High gas prices

The Editor, Sir:

The present pricing policy of Petrojam needs to be investigated. They appear not to be acting in the best interest of the people of Jamaica.

The lead letter by Gerald Cameron in The Gleaner on December 24 with the website www.jamaicagasprices.com.jm is extremely useful and I urge the public to visit the site and see how much the public is losing.

Relief

When the present energy minister Clive Mullings was in opposition he was a champion for the consumer, but that seems to have been forgotten since he is now in Government.

The present management of Petrojam is a hangover of the past government and has not changed its policies. The public needs a relief from high prices and Mullings should not forget that he can return from whence he came. The Government should realise that it is their inaction on important issues like gas prices why people are becoming so turned off from them.

I am, etc.,
