Errol Hanna, managing director of Portland Seacliff Development Limited, is spending US$8 million to develop a 28-villa get-away at Long Bay, Portland.
The development, which is the first for Hanna, covers more than seven acres of land just 25 minutes drive from the capital, Port Antonio.
The John Crow Mountains, part of the Blue Mountain range, forms part of the backdrop.
The three-bedroom villas are 3,455 square feet and upwards in size and priced at US$550,000 to US$650,000.
The four-bedroom units range from 4,000 square feet up and sell for US$750,000 to US$840,000.
"It is a log home concept, eco-friendly design, using logs and bio-digesters sewage system, the villas are fully equipped," said Hanna.
The project is to be completed in another six months.
The villas feature Spanish clay tiles for the roof, granite kitchen counters, Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, and hard wood floors.
