I AM shaken by the numerous cases of homicide that occur yearly. The crime rate has exploded over the last decade, and as a regular online reader who would like to return home, I am terrified.

I decided earlier this year to visit Jamaica in the Christmas season, but as the time gets closer, I am having concerns, questioning if I should go home. Am I going to be robbed and killed? It is pathetic for me to be thinking like this, but the fact is that the monster (crime) has gripped this country and it seems as if Jamaica has lost its soul.

We need to send a clear and precise message to the criminal elements that have taken over this great country. Hang them! Start immediately; make it a public display. If you are found guilty of a heinous crime, expect a fast, swift and just response. For years, the Government has sat idle, while criminals are raping our children and senior citizens, killing our brothers, sisters, neighbours and friends. I say no more. Hang them all!
