The trial of three men charged with the murder of two good Samaritans was put off Tuesday to allow the police to get additional information in the case.
George Cooper, Andre Ennis and Shane Brown, labourers of Kingston addresses, are charged with the double murder.
Justice Jennifer Straw remanded them until December 15 when it is expected that the trial will commence in the Home Circuit Court.
Taiwo McKenzie and Jhanel Whyte were kidnapped in November last year when they went to a location in Havendale, St Andrew, to give medical supplies to an injured man.
Collision
McKenzie was allegedly driving a motor car when it collided with a motorcycle on which two men were travelling. Arrangements were subsequently made for the couple to take medical supplies to one of the men who was injured in the accident.
It is alleged that after McKenzie and Whyte went to the premises where the injured man was, they were kidnapped. A demand was made for a ransom of US$100,000 (J$7 million). When the demand was not met, they were murdered.
The bodies, with the throats slashed, were discovered in Mount Salus district in Red Hills, St Andrew, on November 8 last year.
