The Editor, Sir:

In my opinion, the opinion piece as expressed in The Gleaner 10/21/08, "America: the good and the bad" by Colin Steer solidified my own stance regarding my adopted country: America. There is a saying "If you love someone, set them free!' ( I agree.) ... "If they return, it was meant to be." There is another one that keeps bouncing around in my head (I'm pretty sure it's mine originally, but, if I'm wrong, you can let me know) it's this: "Those who love you tell you the truth and "dem weh 'ate yuh lie to yuh!"

Speak truth to power! Walk good.
