BOYS TOWNS technical director, Andrew Price, has been stressing from day one their intent on making its Collie Smith Drive home base an imposing and fearsome fortress by taking three points off every opponent who ventures into their lair this season.
Beginning with a 1-0 victory over Arnett Gardens, then St. Georges, who they put away 2-1 in a rescheduled game on Thursday, the Colour Reds have lived up to its word.
Today, the Trench Town teams focus will be no different when it hosts league-leading Harbour View in the feature sixth round Digicel Premier League contest at 3:30 p.m.
Collect points
Our intention is to collect all three points when we play at home, whoever we play, said Price. We will be treating this one as we treat each home game. If we beat Harbour View on Sunday we will surpass them in number of points. Our aim is to go for a win. We are definitely ready to carry the game to Harbour View.
Harbour View, with three wins and two draws, have two points more than Boys Town and are in a three-way tie atop the standings with Waterhouse and defending cham-pions Portmore United.
However, having scored the most goals (eight) and conceding the least (two), Harbour View are number one by virtue of their superior goal difference. They have drawn both encounters on the road and are not intimidated by facing Boys Town on their turf.
We really hold no fear for Boys Town or playing at Boys Town, noted Clyde Jureidini, the clubs general manager.
Weve been adversaries of Boys Town for a long time. We enjoy going to Boys Town and playing a good game of football and we have had some good results there over the years. We have a very competitive rivalry going over 30 years. While we respect them, we will go there to play well and garner some points on the road, whether it be three points or one.
Players
Midfielder Lovel Palmer has been hitting the target most often for Harbour View, scribbling his name on the scoresheet on practically every occasion they play.
For Boys Town, Peter Keyes has been doing a similar job. He has gotten more support with the addition of Denzil Watson, who netted twice in their midweek 2-1 win.
Weve got back Denzil Watson, who has scored three goals in the last two games, and Peter Keyes has been doing that all along, Price said. I believe we have a forward line which can get goals.
Its preventing goals from being scored against them though,, which has raised a bigger issue. They have conceded five, a one-a-game average that their TD wants fixed.
We need to defend well because we have been giving up too many goals, even though we have shown a lot of character because whenever we fall behind we have come back and drawn games. If we can get all departments then well be in good stead come Sunday, Price said.
Harbour View, in the meantime, willl welcome the return of its key forward, Kavin Bryan who sat out their last match on an accumulation of yellow cards.
