JLegendary reggae artistes Sly and Robbie are to perform at the 2008 Boss Sounds Festival in the United Kingdom this month.

Celebrating Black History Month, Sly and Robbie, along with some of reggae's most celebrated newcomers, will perform at the Newcastle Carling Academy in a two-day festival.

With Sly and Robbie Hailed as the worlds greatest rhythm section and having played with all Jamaican legends, not to mention Grace Jones and Mick Jagger, its anticipated that it will be a sold-out occasion and a fitting way to mark such an important month.

Other headliners are the UK's Misty in Roots and ska legends Pioneers and Symarip. New York collective, Easy Star All Stars and ska meets Cuba Ska Cubano complement the two-day programme.

Newcomers Natty and YesKing are also scheduled to perform, as well as the UK's premier dub selectors, Iration Steppas, and Alpha and Omega.
