Lynch Park, Portland:
Sporting Central held St Georges to a one-all draw at Lynch Park in their Digicel Premier League game on Sunday at Lynch Park, Buff Bay.
Hughan Grey gave Sporting Central the lead at the 10th, while Denroy Dennis netted the equaliser shortly after at the 13th.
The game was dominated in parts by both teams, with Sporting Central having the advantage. They attacked through Donovan Peart, Alanzo Adlam, Hughan Grey and Christopher Banner, as defenders Keon Clunis, Ricardo Taylor and Omar Davis tried to keep them at bay. Sporting took the lead in the 10th minute when Marlon Allen's long pass from left back went over the square Georgian defence, leaving Gray wide open to fire past a retreating Ralston Robinson with his left foot.
St Georges responded well and Dwayne Holmes hit a long pass to Damion Harwood, who flicked on the ball to Dennis, who headed past Demetrio Brown to level the scores.
The rest of the half saw both teams attacking with Dennis, Harwood, Daniel Shaw and Omar Henderson leading the charge for the homesters and Marlon Allen and Adlam orchestrating counter plays for Sporting.
More organised
The second half saw a more organised Sporting Central con-trolling play, but they failed to capitalise on their chances.
Sporting Central's coach, Christopher Dawes, was pleased with the point.
"We deserved the point although we could have gone away with all three. We are, however, not satisfied as we gave up a soft goal. We have to try and correct giving up early goals in the first half."
His opposite number, Geoffrey Maxwell, was disappointed.
"I am very disappointed with the output of the players because the intention was to win this game. Sporting Central controlled the middle, but still we had chances in the first half and we didn't put them away. Today was our worst game so far as our passing and control was off," he assessed.
