Surprises in the Hird family
published: Monday | October 13, 2008

At eight months old, the quadruplets are showing developments in different ways. Gabrielle does best moving around. Mommy says as soon as she puts her down, she disappears and does not care what anyone thinks.

Now Ruthann-belle is the opposite, she prefers to stay in one place. However, don't think this baby is lazy in any way. She has another interest. Standing up.

Check out what happened on September 29.

Mommy passed by the living room and returned in less than five minutes to see her beloved Ruthann-belle standing up in the playpen, holding on to the rim! "I was shocked," recalls Mom, with disbelief in her voice. "When you least expect it they do something amazing," she said beaming.

She called her husband, Reginald, who was ironing and he rushed in. Both parents smiled, absorbing the display of their little angel. Thinking about it, Ruthann-belle has not only been making surprises in that arena, as she is now a troublemaker who keeps pulling Gabrielle's hair.

Teething time

Isabelle now boasts all of five teeth, while her other sisters are yet to grow one. You go, Isabelle! Mommy is still surprised at this phenomenon. "It surprises me; they just keep popping up," she said.

Annabelle now focuses on exercising her hands and knees, taking over from the notorious Gabrielle. When she gets bored, she rolls from side to side, eventually resting on her tummy.

The girls stay inside during the days and are mostly on their play mat. Now they eat soup and crushed Irish potato or green banana with butter. At first, they were not too fond of this but a secret ingredient, that Mommy added to the mix, created a deliciously irresistible meal.

When all is said and done, there is one thing that the adorable Hird quadruplets have in common. They are sitting up better now, with Gabrielle and Isabelle passing this course with flying colours.

PlayTime

During the days, the quadruplets are entertained by their favourite toy, a spin and singalong alphabet zoo. As the name suggests, the toy plays the alphabet in a song and calls the name of an animal beginning with each letter. The girls are also fond of building blocks. And Mommy still reads to the girls as she cherishes this activity.

Sleepy time

The notorious Gabrielle has to sleep by herself because she sleeps 'bad'. However, Annabelle and Isabelle sleep together. Mommy believes they are used to each other more because they have been sleeping together since they were much younger. Furthermore, when Annabelle makes sounds during her sleep, they do not bother Isabelle as they would her other sisters. Ruthann-belle is the odd one out, as usual, and sleeps by herself, but for no specific reason.
