It's not every day that one is able to attend a river party in scenic Paradise Park Estate, eating succulent roast fish and breadfruit or dunking Excelsior crackers in fish tea. But then, every day is not Collin Virgo's 25th birthday.
Although many of his 40 closest friends came well prepared to swim, they seemed to have a case of cold feet as no one braved the water, until a heavy shower changed things.
But the camaraderie, energy and vibe could not be beaten. This was easily proven when Warren Newby jumped on top of the bar and began to deejay before getting the small crowd to belt out For he's a jolly good fellow in honour of the birthday celebrant.
A true friend
The birthday cake was cut by Virgo's sister Camiel and his friend Janelle after which came the toasts, all in agreement that Virgo is a loyal friend. "If there was ever a true friend, you epitomise what that is," said his friend Leighton Morrison.
A rum and music fan, Virgo would not have been satisfied if the night had ended without some soca music. His friends share similar interests and everyone had a whale of a time getting down.
Seen at the party were: Richard Porteous of Protection and Security, attorney Robert Collie, businessman Robert Chin, Super Plus' Dane Powell, Mark Jones, Kevin Hammond, Andino Harris, Gabre Spence of Sagicor Group Insurance marketing and scores more.
