Harbour View's new head coach, Brazilian Waldemar Lemos De Oliviera, believes his team still has a lot more to give, although they pounded Village United 4-0 in the Digicel Premier League match at Harbour View Mini Stadium on Sunday night.
"Very nice match for us; I believe in this group of players. I believe we can play better and I hope we do it in the next match," De Oliveira said, pointing out that the players executed what they were taught during training.
He added that in some key areas, such as passing and ball possession, some work needed to be done.
Village United fell behind as early as the second minute after Jermaine Hue converted from the penalty spot, as Harbour View went into the interval with a 1-0 lead.
After the interval, Harbour View pressed for more goals and got one from Lovel Palmer, whose shot from the top of the area buried inside the left upright.
On the attack
Harbour View eased off the accelerator and allowed Village to get into their own but they were not able to score, even when they got a chance inside the six-yard box.
Harbour View again went on the attack and blasted home two goals in two minutes, causing their fans to get into a frenzy. First, with three minutes remaining, the exciting Mitchly Waugh got a pass from Lovel Palmer, controlled, then blasted a right-footer past Village's goalie, Elvis Hart.
Two minutes later, Kavin Bryan received a pin-point pass from midfield maestro Hue and struck a left-footed shot past Village's custodian, as the crowd went wild.
Dr Dean Weatherley, coach of Village United, thought his team lost control of the game when their captain, Shane Crawford, went down injured.
"I thought we lost our control after our captain went down injured. We started making silly mistakes.
"Our off-the-ball movements were poor and at this level, you can't do that. We just have to go back to the drawing board," he said.
