The desire to be a participant of the annual Schools Challenge Quiz competition has led grades 10 and 11 students of the Albert Town High Schools to use The Gleaner's products every day as an important tool in their preparations for the quiz.

According to Dwayne Edwards, co-coordinator of the quiz programme at the school, the students depend heavily on the newspapers, as they contain current affairs information that can help them.

"We have old Gleaner archives that we use to get information and use it to get the students ready for the competitions," Edwards said.

Wentworth Gabbidon, principal at the school, said the newspaper serves its purpose as it provides currents affairs and resources for reading, and it has information on various subject areas.

He stated further that the newspaper is used for discussions and report writing; and photographs are used to brainstorm for ideas, especially in areas of trends in home economics classes.
