South East Clarendon is on the move to being the best constituency in the island, and to make this possible, under the patronage of Member of Parliament Rudyard Spencer, the annual fund-raising dinner was held last Friday at the Hilton Kingston. The function was, however, not only about raising money, but to honour Prime Minister Bruce Golding, dubbing him 'Political Man of the Year'.

Before the dinner, guests got the chance to mingle in the cocktail area, while sipping on drinks of their choice. After about two hours of socialising, dinner got under way at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Treats

During dinner, there were treats from gold medal winners from the Mineral Heights Primary and Portland Cottage All-Age schools. Quite pleased, Spencer boasted about the talent in his constituency. George Nooks and Lloyd Parkes and We the People Band were also on hand to thrill and deliver fine entertainment.

Defining why South East Clarendon was on the move, a video presentation highlighted the projects and plans to be undertaken by the constituency.

There was also another video presentation showing scenes from last year's election campaign and moments with the party leader, as well as remarks shared by some party members. After being in government for exactly one year and two days, the prime minister was presented with a citation. In response, Golding spoke about his vision as well as some of the challenges the country has been facing, especially due to international forces.

At the end of the night, the energetic ones danced to the music provided by the band.
