Partying at The Pegasus

It was party night last Friday at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel; the occasion, the hotel's 35th anniversary celebrations.

The party also took place in the glow of the great Olympic showing plus the 1-2-3-4 finish in the Van Damme Memorial in Belgium earlier that day. DJ Craig Ross started the proceedings with soca tunes before making the segue into disco. The Italian station, cold cuts and Pegasus staples (including some delectable sweet food), plus the fully stacked bar kept guests filled and quenched.

Vibe

The guests, some of them staying at the hotel, filed in, catching on to the vibe the second they stepped through the door. Some guests came decked in white towels, either because someone told them it was a toga party or that was the only way they could fit the all-white dress code.

General manager of the hotel, Eldon Bremner, pledged the staff would remain focused on keeping in touch with the public and pointed to the improvements under way that would help to make that happen.

Festivities

That left the Bare Essentials band to take the party into overdrive and then warp speed when Beenie Man closed the festivities.

Guests out include Bobby Pickersgill, Andrea Whyte, Stephen Jones, Norma Brown-Bell, Donna Parchment, Michelle Wilson-Reynolds, Carmen Clarke, Errol Gregory, Yvonne Wilks, Winston Bayley, Ronallie Sirju and daughter Ramona, Lois Lake-Sherwood, Gurney Beckford, Angela Thame, Marilyn Bennett, Eleanor Jones, Judith Douglas, Judith Forth-Blake, Tony and Suzette Haynes, David Shields, Lystra Sharpe and Franklyn McKnight.
