NCB Capital Markets loses another VP
published: Friday | September 12, 2008

Karlene Bailey. - File

NCB Capital Markets Limited has lost its vice-president for investment, Karlene Bailey, who officially departs the company October 8.

Research Manager Joshua Rowe will act in the post until a permanent replacement is identified.

The replacement is likely to come from within the organisation, said Sheree Martin, who heads up group marketing and communications at National Commercial Bank, parent to NCB Capital Markets.

"We have some options," she told the Financial Gleaner.

Bailey has been with NCB Capital Markets (NCBCM) for over five years.

She told the Financial Gleaner only that she was leaving to pursue emerging opportunities.

Another resignation

Her resignation has added to the number of senior executives who have left the Chris Williams-led brokerage over the last two years, among them Deborah Lopez who headed up the wealth division, but who is now with the capital markets team at FirstCaribbean Jamaica.

According to Martin, Lopez's job functions were split between Vernon James, assistant vice-president of corporate portfolios and Tanya Powell, assistant vice-president of private portfolios who are now filling in for Lopez who had both.

James is a fairly recent addition to the NCB Capital Markets team.
