Our advocate
published: Sunday | September 7, 2008

Each day we're faced with trials

The temptations almost never cease

But something tells me not to fret

Because in Jesus we have the greatest advocate.

Our past may seem dull

Our future, oh so dim

But in Christ we can face our present struggles

With a big smile or even a grin.

Sometimes we lose focus

Sometimes we lose sight

And just need someone to remind us

That we are indeed the light.

Jesus gave His life to set us free

A greater sacrifice there will never be

So when your life seems hopeless

Just remember you are so very blessed.

And if by chance you have a sad face

Just remember in Christ there is grace

So stand tall and keep the faith

Knowing always, that in Jesus we have an advocate.

A Tribute to our track team

To the women and men who wear the green, gold

and black

And fly our flag high on the track

To Veronica, Sherone and Shelly-Ann

To Asafa, Michael Frater and Usain Bolt the real

big man.

You show the true champions we are

And that Jamaica is not just about guns and war

That anything is possible if we just believe

As small as we are we can achieve

May God bless you as you have blessed us

Once again you left the world in your dust.

Athletes at dem best

Year 2008 neva really start out so great,

but we Jamaicans have likkle faith,

dat tings might work out at a later date,

prefer more sooner dan too late.

We Jamaicans go thru nuff struggles,

wedda we deh a top, middle or way dong below,

but proud Jamaicans fight right till di end,

going up di high mountain, through di valley or round di most dangerous bend.

To Beijing wi sen off wi best athletes,

fi see dem march wid wi flag looking handsome and sweet,

knowin dat one day di United States of America

dem wudda beat,

but neva knowing dat we wudda get four medals

inna only two meet.

Usain Bolt set a new world record and win di

hundred metre,

followed by Shelly-Ann who win gold - mi call har di silent creeper,

coming in second was Sherone and Kerron fi win silver,

a tie a di finish line like dem a two sister.

As DYCR seh, "We must expect di unexpected,

wid wi Jamaican athletes wi can neva be disappointed,

'cause dem always rise to the occasion,

an come out pon top inna any situation."

Dis is Jamaica land we love,

wi richly blessed by the man up above,

stop di killing and mek wi come togedda fi over come every test

so wi can live fi see nuff more athletes performin' at dem best.

Marshmallow dream world

Away ... away

I fly away into puffy sugar-dipped

Marshmallow dream world.

I float on pink cotton candies

That never could melt 'cause

Of the light, light-giving sun.

I jump across rainbow skies,

Eagerly play swing on their

Long multi-coloured ribbons.

I walk on roadways paved with

Chocolate bars and caramel syrup

Smooth and sweet, not sticky-wet.

Round, swirling coloured lollipops

Pop from sugar-dusted soil -

My flowers, red, white, purple, green.

Bubblegum world;

Balloons of light

In this Dream

There is no night.

Unbeatable love

I let you go knowing

That you'll be back.

Time has proven over and over again

What you fail to understand.

I have no fear, no remorse,

I send with grave confidence.

So go! Take the wings of the morning

And fulfil your unquenchable desires.

Destiny has been proven right

But again you fail to understand

Physically, emotionally or spiritually

One way or another!

How can you have someone

And, at the same time

Not have him?

I win either way ha ha!

You are written on my heart,

Just like a tattoo

I'll always have you.
