  • Broilers beat Cement in 20/20 cricket

    Jamaica Broilers defeated Carib Cement by 62 runs in their opening round Digicel Twenty/20 Business House knockout cricket match at Spring Village last Sunday.

    Batting first, Jamaica Broilers made 157 for seven - Peter Cabballero 49, Aaron Daley Jr 18; Robert Heron 2-23, Bryan Brown 2-26. Carib Cement 95 all out off 19.2 overs - Dwayne Guthrie 23, Orane Cunningham 16; Marlon Lindo 4 -22, Fitzroy Bryan 3-11.

    AT CHALMERS AVE: Cable & Wireless defeated Windalco by 15 runs.

    Cable & Wireless 140 all out - Damion Jacobs 43, Dave Johnson 29; Hamlet Stewart 3-32, Troyan Ingram 2-23.

    Windalco 125 for eight - Barrington Chambers 39, Peter Pottinger 37; Shaun Lodge 2 for 18, Damion Powell 2-8.

    AT KENSINGTON PARK: Digicel defeated NWC by 51 runs.

    Digicel 156 for six - Ian Dewar 78, Garfield Moore 27; Garwaine Johnson 3-26. NWC 106 - Fabian Forbes 59, Durant Whyte 21; Domain Wilson 3-3, Moore 3-19.

    AT JAMAICA COLLEGE: St Ann Jamaica Bauxite defeated Continental Baking Company by six wickets. Continental Baking Company 110 for nine - Roland Henry 35, Richard Johnson 26; Ainsley Cross 3-17, Andre Dwyer 3-18. St Ann Bauxite 112 for four in 11.1 overs - Marlon Pinnock 46, Rupert Brown 32; Vander Rowe 2-27, Johnson 2-40.

    AT JAMALCO: Jamalco beat Sagicor/LoJ by 31 runs. Jamalco 152 for eight - Errol Thomas 43, Collis Johnson 33; Hanif Palmer 4-18, Herbert Garriques 2-28. Sagicor/LoJ 121 for eight - Hugh Meredith 40, Garriques 23; Thomas 2-23.

  • Cable & Wireless vs Digicel today

    Communication giants, Digicel and Cable & Wireless will clash in a rescheduled Best Dressed Chicken 30-over Business House cricket match today at Chalmers Avenue starting at noon.

    This match was rained out a fortnight ago and had to be rescheduled.

    In another rescheduled match, Carib Cement will oppose NWC in a Reggae Jammin 50-over match at Nelson Oval (Lucas) starting at noon.

  • Seprod, Tank-weld contest domino final

    Defending champions Seprod and the recent KO champions Tank-weld will contest the JET-sponsored Business House Division One domino final following decisive semi-final wins at Jacisera Park on Friday night.

    Tank-weld defeated former champions The Gleaner 150-142, this after leading by six points at half-time, while Seprod also won by eight points, dispatching Jamaica Brandy 148-140.

    Both will meet in the final on Friday at Jacisera Park starting at 6:00 p.m.

    In the Division Two semi-finals, played at the same venue on Friday night, Port Authority crushed NCB 150-95, while Berger beat Carib Cement 147-139. Port Authority and Berger will meet in Friday's final also at Jacisera Park.

  • Division One semison Wednesday

    The Western Sports/KSAFA Division One football semi-finals will be played this Wednesday at separate venues.

    UWI, who topped the standings with 19 points, will meet old rivals The Gleaner at Cable & Wireless Sports Club, Chalmers Avenue.

    And in the second semi-final, Supreme Ventures will oppose Carib Cement at UWI Bowl, Mona. Both matches start at 3:30 p.m. and the winners will meet in the final on Saturday at a venue to be announced.

    UWI finished with 19 points, ahead of Supreme Ventures (13), The Gleaner (13) and Carib Cement (13), with a game in hand which should have been played yesterday.
