Under clear blue skies in Sandy Springs, Atlanta, Georgia, a select group of friends and family gathered at the home of Gregory and Elaine Bryan for a signing of the latest book by Labour and Social Security Minister Pearnel Charles.

It was also the 98th birthday of Charles' mother and fittingly his wife, Gloria, daughter Dr Pamella Charles-Pryce, her husband, Dwight, shared the event with him.

Barbadian honorary consul to Atlanta, Edward Layne, welcomed Mr Charles and his family and Mrs Bryan thanked guests for their support. She singled out husband Gregory who had made the event a success.

Musical entertainment was provided by Peter Bau and Sanjay Menton, saxophonists of Chamblee High School.

Gratitude

Charles expressed gratitude to his hosts for extending the invitation and promised to return to launch all four of his books to date. He commended the group of Jamaican/Caribbean/African Atlanta residents for their achievements and continued support of their homeland. Guests at the launch included Gloria Charles, wife of the author; their daughter Dr Pamella Charles-Pryce and her husband, Dwight Pryce; Paula Nelson-Adesokan and her husband, Yinka; Yasmin Campbell; Rosemary Glean; Lorraine James; Bernie Layne; Donna Robinson; Judith Silvera and her husband, Patrick; Basil Smith; Kayellen and Chima Umeakunne; Peter Bau; Sanjay Menton; Monica and Norman Robinson; Verna Ramdeen; Dr Dahlia Pottinger and others.
