The Editor, Sir:
I am a regular reader of your newspaper and love my country greatly, but the negative publicity in the Florida diaspora of the murdering of our fellow human beings has to end. The government has to find a strategy to stop the endless killing spree.
I would love to retire in the country of my birth, like many of my fellow Jamaicans, but I fear for my life and safety. I have much to offer to the youths of beautiful Jamaica and much to offer to my country, but I am afraid after making the move I might just end up in the murder statistics.
Please, Mr Prime Minister, we want to come home. Assure us of our safety and peace of mind and security.
Assure us we will be safe from extortionists in our business endeavours which will offer much-needed employment for the growth and development of this blessed and beloved country, Jamaica land we love.
Many have made the move and have not lasted, instead they have to put their tails between their legs and hightailed it out of our real home. We would love to come home and invest.
I am, etc.,
LELIA MALCOLM
