Troops bomb Georgian towns, scores dead
TBILISI, Georgia (AP):Russia sent hundreds of tanks and troops into the separatist province of South Ossetia and bombed Georgian towns yesterday in a major escalation of the conflict that has left scores of civilians dead and wounded.

Government says coalition talks reach milestone

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP):The Zimbabwean government said yesterday's visit by South African President Thabo Mbeki was a "milestone" in the power-sharing negotiations he is mediating between President Robert Mugabe's party and the Opposition.
