Exemplary policemen
published: Tuesday | August 5, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I recently visited Jamaica with our church on a mission trip. We stayed as guests of the Hazel residence in Kellits. They were very gracious hosts and wonderful people. When they learned that I had worked in law enforcement for many years, they arranged for me to make a visit to the Clarendon Police Station. At the station I met Detective Dorel Peters and Corporal Derrick Henry. In talking with the officers I found that we had a lot in common with the many different challenges facing law enforcment agencies in this century.

Polite and professional

I would like to commend the Jamaican Constabulary Force for the example set forth by these two officers. I found both officers to be respectful, polite and professional. They appeared to be well trained and equipped. The people of Clarendon and Jamaica should be proud that the JCF has such capable and admirable men on their force.

I am, etc.,
