HOTTEST TOPICS ON THE COCKTAIL CIRCUIT

Not a good sign

1. It was never a good sign when the principals acquired a private jet and changed their addresses. Particularly so when those accustomed to living modestly took on the lifestyle of the extremely rich and famous, jetting all over and gambling like high-rollers in private rooms in high-priced casinos.

Flying out!

2. The failure of these 'alternative' investment schemes seems to have brought on a new round of migration. Some of the principals' most vocal disciples are now packing to fly out of the country to take shame out of their eyes.

Some get cash

3. Not everyone it seems lost their money, as the word doing the rounds for some weeks now is that some well-placed politicians recouped their investments, after two politicians flew down to the islands a couple of months ago and read the riot act to the fallen guru. Word is that they collected on behalf of party colleagues and family members who were fellow 'investors'.

Expensive rides

4. It may well turn out to be the most expensive plane ride for many. As it turns out. Those who were boasting of flying on private jets to here and there, might have been unknowingly enjoying the fruits of their investments in the corporation.

Ministers at party

5. How many ministers of government were flown over for the birthday celebrations?

Tired of paying

6. While some are saying the parent organisation simply got tired of paying out money to squash lawsuits, others say that some within the organisation saw a little horizontal activity as a way of fast-tracking their career. Babymothers are being counted!

Guarding the milk

7. Some say the cat should never be given the task of guarding the milk, as there are now reports of some serious breaches and conflicts of interest that occurred while the new man was at his old job.

Police escort

8. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the delivery of the beach was done with official police escort.

Forex saga

9. Seems like there are fewer planes now criss-crossing our skies and this is a direct result of the fallout from the recent developments in the Forex-trading saga. Some are predicting that an influx of luxury SUVs, new apartments and high-end toys will soon be flooding the market as well.

Re-election strategy

10. Some are even more convinced, due to recent revelations, that the "rush to prefer charges" was part and parcel of a re-election strategy that has now gone awry, due to international economic conditions, and are adamant that the case will never be brought to trial.
