Best friends are the siblings God forgot to give us. (Unknown)
To most persons, she's 'Jenny Jenny' - popular host of the television programme, Dancing Dynamites, and the effervescent MC at many entertainment and social events. Jennifer 'Jenny Jenny' Small is also a popular voice on many radio commercials and the jovial, energetic host of HITZ 92 FM's Blast Off on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Born September 9 in Cascade district, St Ann, she attended the York Castle High School, Brown's Town Community College and Church Teachers' College. She also has an MBA from the Mona School of Business, majoring in marketing.
Before her entry into the media, Jenny represented Manchester in the National Festival Queen competition in 1995 and won the crown.
This multi-talented media personality names her husband, Richard, and her girlfriend, Yvette Dewar, as her best friends.
Yvette Dewar is currently the financial controller at Property Management Resources Ltd. She is a chartered accountant and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
Yvette shares with us the things she values in her friendship with Jenny, such as her openness and the fact that she is an excellent listener and a faithful friend.
We also learn of Jenny's genuine love for people, particularly her passion for women and children living with AIDS, and her commitment to assist Jamaica AIDS Support in its efforts to care for people living with AIDS.
How did you meet 'Jenny Jenny' Small, and how long have you been friends?
I met Jenny seven years ago at Campion Pep-Up gym. We were taking the same class and one day as we were preparing to leave the gym we just started talking and we ended up talking for hours about various things. As we talked, I felt as if we had known each other for a long time. We exchanged telephone numbers that day and that's how our friendship started.
Before I met her, I always listened to her on radio and admired her onstage as an MC. I always thought she was such a talented person and when we met I found it amazing how easy it was to relate to her on a personal level. With Jenny, what you see is what you get.
Tell us what you admire most about her and why you think you have remained friends all these years.
I admire her pleasant personality and her energy, but I admire most of all her openness. Whenever I am sharing personal things with her she doesn't hold back, she will open up and share personal things about herself as well.
I also admire her determination to achieve her goals. No matter what obstacles she may face, she will always find a way to overcome them.
Jenny and I go to the movies and other social events together. Sometimes we meet to hang out and to catch up with what's happening in each other's life. To me, she is like the sister I would want to have if I was to think about the perfect sister. She's always there for me and she listens (she is an excellent listener) and she always gives her opinion. Even if the problem isn't solved, just talking to her helps to relieve the burden of the situation. She is confidential and I can talk to her about anything. These are the things that keep the bond between us.
Tell us something interesting about Jenny Jenny.
Popular radio personality Jennifer Small (Jenny Jenny) and her groom.
Most people know that she is multi-talented. In addition to what she does on radio and onstage, she is an excellent singer and she also dances.
But an interesting thing about Jenny is that she has a genuine love for people and she is passionate about women and children living with AIDS. This is why she is so committed to Jamaica AIDS Support. She believes that the organisation should get all the help it can in its efforts to care for people living with AIDS, and so she often hosts concerts and other activities to raise funds for the organisation.
Another thing is that she enjoys taking trips to the country, including her hometown in St Ann. She is always busy and so this is her way of re-energising.
What are some of the things you talk about when you get together?
We talk about very personal things, our marriages and our family. We also talk about current issues and I give her feedback on her radio programme and her TV show, Dancing Dynamites. She appreciates what I have to say because she knows that I am fair and objective.
Share with us one of the happiest moments you have experienced with her.
One of the most memorable moments was during the birth of my twins last year September. Jenny spent time with me while I was in the hospital and it was special because I really needed the support and she was there for me.
Yvette's twins, Amanda (left), and Gabrielle, get a special hug from Jenny Jenny.
I also went through post-partum (depression) and she spent time with me and ensured that I was doing OK. It was also special to see her singing to the babies.
These are some of the special moments that live on in my memory.

vegetables.
She loves gospel music and dancehall music. Jenny grew up in the church; her father is a pastor and her mother is an evangelist, hence, her love for gospel music.

Tell us the colour that you associate with her:
Yellow - signifying someone you'll never forget
Orange - signifying someone who consider your true friend
Red - signifying someone you really love
Green - signifying someone who has had a significant impact on your life
If I have to choose a colour, I would say red. Jenny is someone I really love because she is always there for me whenever it matters; she makes the sacrifice to spend time with her friends, and just who she is as a person is what I love about her. She is the sister that I have always wanted and I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything.
