The following are feedback letters to our very popular feature, Roving with Lalah, which is written by Robert Lalah and appears every Thursday. Be sure to look out for another adventure next week!

Hilarious article

Dear Robert,

That was a hilarious article you wrote, man. Superb! I enjoyed every bit of it. Keep up the good work.

Regards,

R. McKenzie

Gold mine

Dear Robert,

"Mi nearly drop off a mi chair dis mawning when mi read about Leonard, the Chinese lady and di hairdressa ... What a stress!"

Thanks for the laughs and walk good!

I think you are sitting on a gold mine with all your stories. Compile them into a book. Talent beyond belief!

My little bit of Jamaica

Dear Robert,

I have lived in Ottawa, Canada, for over 30 years now and I try to keep up with Jamaica. Believe me, I read your column all the time and it is my little bit of Jamaica. Always have me laughing, a great stress reliever. We appreciate the Jamaican culture more being away from it.

Keep writing.

Real live colour and action

Dear Robert,

Don't know what to do with you, don't know what to do without you! You almost made me gag on my breakfast this morning reading the antics and drama of Leonard, the hairdresser and the Chinese lady. I swear it was like an Oliver Samuels production. I laughed so hard, I emailed it right away to my cousin. You always have a knack of just being there and capturing our lives in real live colour and action. You are an amazing writer. I'm sure I've already told you that and I meant it. Thanks for making my morning! We are a set of humorous and dramatic people and no matter how difficult life gets, we always have our wit, and I'm so grateful to you for highlighting it for us every Thursday. You rock, Lalah!

Continue using our language

Dear Robert,

Your articles in The Gleaner always fascinate me, but this one even more so, since it has a mixture of 'Jumiekan' and as you know, the controversies about the Patwa (Patois) Bible translation. I support the translation issue and was elated to see your article. Please continue using our language for your articles.

A breath of fresh air

Dear Robert,

I have just finished reading your Chinese restaurant article. It is HILARIOUS! It is so funny that I have emailed it to my non-Jamaican friends who have witnessed something similar in Jamaica.

Please, please, please, please keep up the good work. You are such a needed breath of fresh air.

J.R.

Extreme classic

Dear Robert,

You have to arrange a play around these stories, or an online podcast. This 'Drama in the Chinese restaurant' piece is an extreme classic!

F.G.

Best wishes

Dear Robert,

My, I'm a Jamaican living in the United States. I read your column every chance I get.

This one at the Chinese place was really funny. I'm taking some courses in creative writing and I hope to be a freelance writer/ author in the future. I wish you all the best in your success.

Happy writing.

R.

Mi laugh till mi bawl!

It's all because of you, Robert, people think mi mad! But dat all good, because you help me cope with being away from the land I love so much ... and dat is the truth. So, please, put likkle move gravy inna it fi mi. More time ... Walk good.

In stitches

Dear Robert,

I am a regular Gleaner Online reader and I had to write to you to tell you how I continue to enjoy your articles. This one in particular was so funny, I had to write to you. I was in stitches and even writing to you now, I am still laughing just thinking about it.

We should really start making reality movies with these live events. We could become a very rich nation with reality movies.

M.L.

Cracked up

Dear Robert,

Your articles, especially the ones with our 'new' Chinese citizens, always crack me up. Keep up the good work.

S.C.

Jamaica at it's best!

This was brilliant; Jamaica at its very best. God bless you for sharing this with us.

Thanks.

Frederick

I am a regular reader of your column, which I find interesting and entertaining.

Compile your articles

Dear Robert,

Ever thought of publishing a compilation of your articles? They give an insight into Jamaican culture and the small innuendos that exist. I would be among the first purchasers.

M.P.

Keep it up!

Dear Robert,

I enjoy reading your column, Roving with Lalah.

Keep up the good work.

Regards,

K.F.B.

Important work

Dear Robert,

I've been reading your articles as usual and I do enjoy reading them as they provide such an important portal to our past as a nation.

D.M.

Enjoyed it!

Dear Robert,

You know there are times that I can't help but to write to you. Well, today is one of those days. I absolutely enjoyed today's story. I was laughing from beginning to end. Great Robert, keep it up!

'Wicked' story

Dear Robert,

Yow Bredrin, today's story wicked - yuh si mi?

Hol' tight.

T.P.

Very interesting

Dear Robert,

I am a Jamaican living in the U.S. (for too many years). I read your articles on Gleaner Online and I find them very interesting. I am originally from Mocho, Clarendon so I have had my share of colourful characters growing up.

Anyway, keep up the good work and take a lot of pictures and notes because you may find that in a few years a compilation of your work may be a worthwhile venture. I would buy a copy.
