Wishes for comrades
published: Friday | July 18, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

These are my wishes, as a comrade, for the upcoming presidential campaign in the People's National Party (PNP):

That there will be none of the candidates saying "don't draw mi tongue".

That these candidates will commit themselves to put the party first.

That there will be a clean voters' list, which does not contain the names of dead comrades.

That the candidates will strongly cite the excellent records of the PNP's 18 years in power.

That each candidate's supporters will not do anything to hurt the good name of the PNP.

That there will be no personal attacks and each candidate must state clearly what he or she is going to do to reconnect to the grassroot comrades of the PNP.

That the candidates will not campaign for the failing Jamaica Labour party administration.

That the candidates tell Jamaicans how are they are going to bring about changes, which will enhance the standard of living for every Jamaican, and this should be done by the way of debates.

That the PNP remains a party for all and not just a party for the elites and the PhDs, and the PNP returns to the party which puts people first.

Happy campaigning and may the better person win.

I am,etc.,
