NOTE-WORTHY

Peter should wait

Simply put, it just does not add up for Peter. He should wait just as Portia did.

But if my maths is correct, she should prove us right and tell Peter to 'bring it on' and treat it with humour and prove her dominance as a true leader in the party just as PJ did it.

It would dispel all the doubters, and the people with the money bags, and would be advantageous for her as a leader of the party.

Good health to Smith

Even though I share the views with Derrick Smith about the manner in which he was removed as Minister of National Security, I began to think again that maybe it was in his best interest. As we all know, being the Minister of National Security in this country is not an easy task.

I know that all Jamaicans prayed for him during his illness and we are happy that he is back with us again and that he is now working in a less stressful area of the government. Good health to you, Mr Smith.

Sands of time

The irony about the incredible and inconceivable theft of a whole beachful of sand, seemingly overnight, is that very sand/beach was lying like a silent death row inmate, in wait for execution by another type of criminal activity, a more subtle and sophisticated one: more overdevelopment of our dying natural environment by the construction of yet another concrete catastrophe: hotels, hotels and more hotels.

Who stole the beach? Was it the competition? Was it indeed the construction industry (who say you cannot make blocks from sea sand?) or, more desirably, was it the turtles? If it was the turtles, I hope they took that beach far away from Jamaica, where it will be safe from degradation by the limitless greed and corruption of the human animal. Life's a beach.

Colombia beat crime, so can Jamaica

I know for a fact that if Colombia can reduce its crime rate so rapidly, then Jamaica, which is nowhere near as bad as Colombia was in the days of Pablo Escobar, can definitely accomplish the task. It should be the government's top priority right now!

It's going to put a bad damper on tourism and money coming into the country. I'm begging the goverment to please do something before it is too late!
