Miller, Findlay join Windies ODI squad
published: Wednesday | July 2, 2008

Miller

FIRST-TIME West Indies call-ups, left-arm spinner Nikita Miller and left-arm batsman Shawn Findlay, should now be settling in St Kitts ahead of the final two one-day internationals against Australia, which will be held at Warner Park this Friday and Sunday.

Miller and Findlay, who play locally for Melbourne and St Elizabeth and are former students of St Elizabeth Technical High, were called up after Sulieman Benn, Patrick Browne, Jerome Taylor and Kieron Pollard were dropped by the West Indies selectors.

Another newcomer, Barbadian pacer, Kemar Roach, will replace Taylor, who is injured.

Roach made his debut for the West Indies team in the recent one-off Twenty20 against the Australians in Barbados, and was consistently recorded bowling 90 miles per hour (145km).

Australia, leading 3-0, have already clinched the five-match series.

The West Indies squad: Chris Gayle (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Xavier Marshall, Andre Fletcher, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Darren Sammy, Daren Powell, Fidel Edwards, Kemar Roach, Nikita Miller, Shawn Findlay.
