Henry T. Sampson - The man who's responsible for the existence of cellular phones today. In 1971, he invented the gamma-electric cell, which produce, stable high-voltage output and current to detect radiation in the ground.

Lewis Howard Latimer - Inventor of the process for manufacturing the carbon filaments in light bulbs in 1881.

Garrett Augustus Morgan - A businessman and inventor who developed two rather useful creations widely used today, namely the traffic light and the official gas mask.

Frederick McKinley Jones - Among the most prolific inventors, he patented approximately 60 items, the most well known perhaps being an automatic refrigeration system and air-conditioning unit in the 1930s and 1940s.

Sarah Boone - The woman responsible for allowing us to make our clothes as neat as can be. She made the bold step in designing an improvement to the ironing board on December 30, 1887.
