The Editor, Sir:
I would like to use this medium to ascertain why is it so difficult to obtain service, let alone, good service, from the Registrar General's Department at Twickenham Park. My experience with them has been nothing but frustrating and stressful.
Their website relating to contact information is a farce. Imagine calling an institution of this nature and receiving a message that 'there is no more room for messages'. Not to mention email enquiries are unanswered.
What am I to do, I reside overseas and cannot seem to get any satisfactory answers regarding obtaining a marriage certificate that the office issued a certified true copy of back in January 1993, and now that I am requesting the printed version, they cannot find the record.
It is close to seven weeks since the initial application and I can neither receive the certificate, an apology nor an expected date nor time when this issue can be resolved.
This is 2008, business simply cannot be done this way. Help, please
