Potholes all across Jamaica
published: Wednesday | June 25, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I urge the Jamaican Government to please fix the potholes in the roads all across Jamaica. It is a dirty shame that main roads are filled with such huge holes. Worse, it seems to bother no one.

I was in Jamaica last November and again in May of this year. The same pothole that caused a punctured tyre on the motor vehicle I had in November 2007 was still there in May 2008. Not to mention that the holes got bigger and more numerous.

The main road from Santa Cruz to Lacovia is a disgrace. It is a primary road in the parish of St Elizabeth, supporting traffic between Mande-ville and Black River. It is very dangerous for drivers to navigate around the potholes in an effort to avoid them and oncoming vehicles.

Mr Tufton, please fix these bad roads in the parish of St Bess. And other MPs around the island, get all the major roads fixed as they are clear and present, physical and financial hazards to motorists.

I am, etc.,
